To our Chappelle Gardens Community,

Thank you for your patience as we review and work through the new Alberta Covid-19 restrictions. As you may be aware, on the evening of September 15, 2021, the Alberta Government and Alberta Health Services announced a new optional ‘Restrictions Exemption Program’ (REP) in which participating businesses can continue to operate as usual with minimal restrictions. For more information on these restrictions, please follow:

After extensive discussion between Senior Management and our Board of Directors, the Chappelle Gardens Residents Association has decided to actively participate in this program. The health and safety of all our residents, employees and community has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority.

To enter our facility people ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated (at least 14 days from second dose of a 2-dose vaccine or a single dose of Janseen). Alberta Vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital) is now the only valid Alberta-issued proof of vaccination accepted by operators participating in REP. Other accepted forms of proof of vaccination include; other provinacial vacine records, ArriveCan app, Canadian Armed Forces vaccine records, and U.S. Military proof of vaccination and ID card. Valid identification that matches the vaccine record is also required for adults 18 and over.

Also to enter our facility people aged 12 and older can show proof of a negative test result. The test result should be written or printed copy that indicates the individual tested negative for COVID-19 on a Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR, or lab based PCR test approved by health Canada or the lab accreditation body of jurisdiction.

This pandemic has been extremely challenging for not-for-profit recreation businesses, including Chappelle Gardens Residents Association, in the addition to so many others. The Chappelle Gardens Residents Association believes that participating in the REP is a necessary step we need to take in order to support the overall health and safety of our residents and employees, to sustain regular business operations, and to continue to create the safest possible environment for our community.

As we transition into next steps we please ask that you are respectful towards all staff enforcing these new restrictions. Please remember, they are not the ones who have made these decisions, they are following the Alberta Government and Alberta Health Services recommendations. We kindly remind everyone that we are all humans trying our best to navigate this transition, with the health and safety of everyone at top of mind.

We appreciate your continued support and cooperation,

Board of Directors

Chappelle Gardens Residents Association
