UAlberta iGEM 2023

Support your community and join us for a fun Science Session where a group of students from our University of Alberta will show us how to extract DNA from strawberries (using household materials) and also a little bit of botany (planting seeds to mini pots/styrofoam cups).

“In a nutshell, our whole project centers around finding an early detection system for a fungal pathogen known as Fusarium graminearum which infects wheat. Through this system, we hope farmers could take necessary precautions to contain the infection.”
