HiVE members create them.
The HiVE is Chappelle Gardens Residents Association’s flagship youth leadership program for residents ages 12 to 17. It’s a place where teens discover what they’re capable of through real experiences, meaningful responsibility, and a team that believes in them.
This isn’t another after-school club.
It isn’t a classroom.
It isn’t a volunteer list.
It’s a leadership collective built for young people who are ready to step forward, challenge themselves, and make a difference in their community.
Whether you’re naturally outgoing or quietly finding your confidence, The HiVE gives you a place to belong, grow, and lead.
More Than Volunteer Hours
Yes, you’ll earn volunteer hours.
But what you’ll gain matters far more.
The HiVE is designed to help young people become the kind of person others trust, respect, and remember.
Along the way, members build confidence, strengthen communication skills, learn to solve problems, work as a team, speak in front of groups, support their community, and discover leadership styles that feel authentic to who they are.
These are the kinds of experiences that stand out on scholarship applications, resumes, interviews, and future careers. More importantly, they’re the kinds of skills that shape who you become.
Learn By Doing
Leadership isn’t something you memorize.
It’s something you practice.
Throughout the year, members participate in Leadership Labs where they tackle real challenges, work together, hear from inspiring guest speakers, and develop practical leadership skills.
They also volunteer at community events, help deliver programs, earn industry certifications, plan projects, support younger participants, and take on increasing responsibility as they grow.
Every experience is designed to stretch confidence while ensuring members feel supported every step of the way.
A Team That Has Your Back
One of the things members talk about most isn’t the leadership.
It’s the people.
The HiVE is built around the belief that leadership is never a solo journey. Members encourage one another, celebrate successes together, and help each other through challenges.
Over time, teammates become trusted friends.
The kind who cheer you on, push you to try something new, and remind you what you’re capable of when you forget.

The HiVE recognizes growth through meaningful milestones, leadership opportunities, unique traditions, collectible recognition items, certifications, volunteer achievements, and experiences that can’t be earned simply by showing up.
As members gain experience, they take on new responsibilities, mentor newer participants, help shape future programming, and leave a lasting impact on the next generation of leaders.

Who: Chappelle Gardens resident youth ages 12 to 17
When: September through June
Where: CGRA Social House
What to Expect: Monthly Leadership Labs, volunteer opportunities, community events, leadership certifications, social activities, guest speakers, mentorship, and unforgettable experiences.
Applications open in June. Space is intentionally limited to create a close-knit cohort where every member is known, supported, and challenged to become the best version of themselves.
