❓ What does the rental fee include?

Your school group rental includes access to:

  • Outdoor Skating Rinks (Winter bookings)
  • Splash Park (Spring bookings)
  • Playground Facilities
  • Outdoor Green Spaces
  • Public Washrooms
  • Skate Change Room Access

Please note: Outdoor spaces are shared-use areas. While your group will have access during your scheduled booking time, other school groups, residents, or guests may also be using the space at the same time.


❓ How long is each booking session?

Each session is 3 hours. You can choose between:

  • Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon Session: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • *All Day: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

❓ How many students can we bring?

  • Up to 150 students plus required supervising adults.
  • Groups are required to follow minimum supervision guidelines of 1 adult per 10 students.

❓ Do you provide skates, helmets, or splash park equipment?

No, Chappelle Gardens does not provide rental equipment.

  • Skaters must bring their own skates and CSA-approved helmets (helmets are mandatory for all skaters).
  • Splash Park users should bring their own swimwear, towels, sunscreen, and any other necessities.

❓ What happens if there is bad weather?

Because our facilities are outdoors, bookings are weather-dependent:

  • Severe weather (lightning, heavy snow, extreme cold, etc.) may result in cancellations or rescheduling.
  • We will contact the booking teacher if unsafe conditions occur.
  • Weather-related cancellations can be rescheduled at no extra cost, kept as stored credit, or fully refunded.

❓ What is the cancellation policy for other reasons?

  • Cancellations for reasons other than weather follow our standard policy:
    • Cancel 14+ days before your booking: Full refund (minus a $15.00 admin fee).
    • Cancel 7–13 days before: 50% refund (minus a $15.00 admin fee).
    • Cancel less than 7 days before: No refund.

❓ Is insurance required?

Yes. Schools must provide proof of district insurance coverage or third-party event insurance if requested.


❓ What if we accidentally damage something?

A $500 refundable damage deposit is required before your event.
If there are no damages, the deposit will be released within 48 hours after your booking.


❓ Are there any facility rules we need to follow?

Yes! To keep everyone safe and our spaces beautiful:

  • Keep the Skate Change Room tidy — minimize the space you take up with gear and store belongings neatly.
  • Avoid tracking snow, dirt, or water into indoor facilities. Wipe footwear before entering and keep dripping to a minimum.
  • No confetti, glitter, smoke bombs, silly string, rice, birdseed, or similar items.
  • No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or open flames.
  • Respect all playground, rink, and splash park equipment.
  • Clean up all garbage and personal belongings before leaving.
